There are many in our community that won't have an Easter Dinner this year. Whether through illness or hardship, Easter, a traditional time of the year for families to gather, will be missed. However, there is an organization that wants to make sure no one is alone.

Guiding Light (GL) is hosting a community Easter Dinner, Sunday, April 9th 2017, from 12p.m. - 1:30p.m. at Guiding Light, 255 S. Division Ave., Grand Rapids, MI 49503. The dinner is free and open to the public. This event is intended to provide a home-cooked, traditional Easter Dinner to program participants, volunteers, and anyone in the community who may not otherwise not have a place to celebrate the holiday.

Guiding Light expects to host close to 300 people for the Easter Dinner. Many of their guests live on the street and have no family to share a holiday meal with.

Guiding Light does need support, however, and would greatly appreciate donations to defray costs. A gift of less than $2 will help provide a meal of ham, potatoes and vegetables to someone in need.
