Childish Gambino has started off 2017 with a major W. On Sunday night (Jan. 8), the Awaken, My Love! artist's TV series Atlanta earned him the trophy for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards. Other nominees for the award included Black-ishMozart In The JungleTransparent and Veep. You can peep his acceptance speech for yourself up top.

Praised for its surreal humor and its ability to document black experiences in an authentic way, Atlanta was one of the surprise hits of the fall. The show chronicles the exploits of Earnest "Earn" Marks as he, his emerging rap star cousin and his off-beat friend try to hustle their way to fame and fortune in the rap game. Childish created the show and he starred in the lead role.

Childish, who is also an accomplished rapper and comedian, is one of the entertainment world's rare triple threats. He put his comedic chops to use in his acceptance speech, shouting out the Migos when you'd think he'd spend more time talking about himself.

"Wow, thanks to all of the foreign press, this is incredible," Childish says in his acceptance speech. "Thank you to FX. I really want to thank the beautiful, amazing actors and actresses we have, Keith, Zazie, Brian, they are amazing. I want to thank my brother, Steven, and all the writers--Stephanie...everybody. Hiro is amazing, you know, I couldn't have made this show without him. Dianne, like you're the best producer ever."

Childish continues,"I really want to thank Atlanta, and all the Black folks in Atlanta, like, forreal, just for being alive and doing just amazing...and being amazing people. I couldn't be here without Atlanta. And I really want to thank the Migos, not for being in the show, but for making 'Bad and Boujee.' Like that's the best song...ever. Yeah, just thanks to everyone. Thanks so much for this, we really appreciate it. We didn't think anybody was going to like this show, so we appreciate it, thanks."

Childish now has the chance to take home two Golden Globe trophies on the night. He's also been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for his starring role in the show that's just won him a trophy for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
