Bobby Shmurda has a new job while he’s locked up in prison and it doesn’t pay much. According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper is doing clerical work in the prison commissary at Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

A law enforcement insider told the gossip website that Shmurda is making between 10 to 25 cents an hour in his new job, which is a far cry from the thousands of dollars he was collecting from doing shows a few years back. Add it all up, the “Hot N----” rapper is barely making minimum wage at $7.75 per week. So, as you can see, there’s no retirement savings plan or health benefits with this gig.

As you may know, Shmurda is serving a seven-year prison sentence for conspiracy to commit murder and other serious charges. But his time being locked up hasn’t been easy.

Back in November, the incarcerated rapper almost got into a brawl before corrections officers broke it up. Shmurda also spent 30 days in isolation and lost his phone privileges. He also was banned from buying products from the commissary.

Shmurda has been locked up since late 2014 and has to serve at least six years. The 21-year-old rapper will be eligible for parole in 2021.
