Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino may have turned down the chance to perform at the 2019 Grammy Awards, but that didn’t stop Cardi B from rocking the stage at the awards show on Sunday night (Feb. 10).

After making her Grammys debut alongside Bruno Mars last year, Cardi returned to the Grammy stage for a killer performance at the annual event. In what could’ve been a preview of her upcoming Las Vegas residency, the former Love & Hip Hop star, who pulled up to the red carpet with Offset by her side, performed her J. White-produced “Money.”

Prior to her explosive performance, the “Get Up 10” femcee revealed that last year’s Grammy losses were used as motivation. “I remember last year, a lot of people were like, ‘You’re going to win,’ but then I didn’t,” she told the Associated Press. “I was like, I just got to work harder to get one. So it’s like, if I don’t get one, it means I have to triple the work and I’m going to keep on until I get one.”

Hard work paid off for Cardi, who locked in five Grammy nominations. Propelled by hit songs like “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It,” her debut album Invasion of Privacy scored a nomination for Album of the Year.

Cardi may not have followed Drake, Kendrick and Donald Glover’s lead this time, however she has reportedly turned down major offers in the past. In support of Colin Kaepernick she reportedly declined performing at the this year's Super Bowl.
