Chicago Teacher Drops Back to School Rap to Welcome Students to His Class

Ma$e dropped "Welcome Back" in time for school, but now one Chicago teacher is welcoming his fourth grade class to school with a similarly fun, creative rap video.

Dwayne Reed, 25, releases a music video explaining what his students should expect throughout the 2016-17 school year. The video, titled "Welcome to 4th Grade," contains the YouTube caption, "The song and video emphasize the reality that hard work is a must, but that school and learning can certainly be fun!"

According to CBS News, the visual is Reed's first-ever attempt at rapping. Now, the outside-the-box visual is going viral, having accumulated over 180,000 views on YouTube. He tells CBS News that he wants the kids to know, “People love you. There’s people who value you. There’s people that affirm you and that think that you’re worth something. And I want them to know that for eight hours a day, I’m that person. I’m that person that you mean something to.”
