Good news from Rockford this past week, as The Corner Bar in Rockford, which burned down on August 14th, was finally given the go ahead to begin the salvaging/rebuilding process.

The Corner Bar posted on their Facebook page Thursday morning that their insurance company had given them the ok to start bracing the walls of the restaurant that remain and were deemed safe to salvage. The original front of the building will be salvaged as well as around 20 feet of the north wall of the original north building.

According to their post, they were getting work started immediately as they’re excited to rebuild, but also relieve the traffic stress for their neighbors that the barriers have caused since the mid-August fire.
