A British coroner has said that renowned singer/songwriter, George Michael died of natural causes, Billboard reports.

Michael's death was the result of heart disease and a fatty liver, or "dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver." Michael died on Dec. 25, 2016 at his home in Oxfordshire county, southern England. Initially, no cause of death was determined. He was 53.

Following his untimely death, tributes from celebrities poured in, including one from Adele at this year's Grammy Awards. Additionally, streams for the songwriter’s solo records increased by 3,158 percent following his death, and his remastered Faith album earned the no. 5 spot on the iTunes U.S. album chart, while his other albums, Twenty Five and Ladies & Gentlemen, both were in the no. 12 and no. 14 slots following his passing.

Because Michael died of natural causes, no inquest will be held.
