Drake opened up about his rise in the rap game in an expansive interview with DJ Semtex on the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio. The rap superstar was very candid and was very blunt with his answers in the hour-long interview.

During the course of their discussion, Drizzy talked about his success with his Views album, his feud with Meek Mill and his estranged relationship with his rap peers Kanye West and Jay Z.

When talking about his infamous feud with Mill, Drake said he doesn't respect the Philly rhymer and that his attack against him was a terrible decision on his part.

"I didn’t know who was going to be on a diss track or what he had ready," he said (quotes via Complex). "I thought this was three months in the making. When I dropped ‘Charged Up,’ just to kinda see what the preparation level was, I realized -- oh wow you’re not ready.”

"I respect revenge when it’s warranted. It’s not something that I’m proud of because it took just as much of an emotional toll on me," he added. "It just seeing people get so riled up on negativity, it doesn’t feel great... It was just embarrassing to witness, you know?"

However, Drake insists that the feud was not in response to Mill dating Nicki Minaj. "I cannot disrespect Nicki Minaj or use Nicki Minaj in any way," he said.

DJ Semtex also asked about Kanye West and his rants on his "Saint Pablo" tour, which seemed to be about him.

"I think everybody has their own little things going on, I’m not really sure what he’s referring to half the time, cause in the same breath, I went from being...like working on a project with him, to him sorta publicly shitting on me and DJ Khaled for being on the radio too much," he said. "But yeah I’m not really sure, everybody’s got their own thing going on."

"Again me when I hear that, I just distance myself from it you know, alright if that’s what it is I don’t really even understand the point you’re trying to make but whatever it is that you’re going through, I accept it, I don’t respect it at all," he continued. "You know cause I feel like me and Khaled are just good people, I’m not sure why we’re the target of your choice that you made that night."
