Forbes Dubs Grand Rapids As The ‘Best Right-Size City'

An article written by Forbes senior contributor Goldie Chan has dubbed Grand Rapids as the "best right-size city in America."

Chan shares that other cities should use Grand Rapids as the blueprint for growth!

YES! Okay other cities take notes!

While Grand Rapids may not be the top pick for people when they think of the best places to live, work, raise a family, etc., Forbes says otherwise!

They highlighted that Grand Rapids has appeared on multiple top lists than any other city its size.

In the Forbes article, Chan highlights how Grand Rapids embraces new industries. It is later mentioned how a lot of Grand Rapids and West Michigan business have landed on Forbes' top privately held businesses list.

While some cities are growing specifically because of one industry, GRand Rapids has benefited from being "one of the most diversified portfolios in the country."

Take a second to think of all of the monikers Grand Rapids has: Furniture City, Beer City, and that's just to name a few!

Chan also shared that Grand Rapids is able to play to our strengths. We don't strive to be the biggest! We are the perfect "right-size city."

According to Forbes, being the "right-size city is the new aspiration."

"Grand Rapids is in the Midwest, so it won’t brag about itself, but make no mistake; this is the best right-size city in America, with the stats, the people and the “want to” needed to continue to drive forward."
