The Grand Rapids Police Department is warning residents, specifically illegal drug users, of a potentially dangerous drug that has been recovered on the streets of Grand Rapids.

Since July, the GRPD says that they have had 6 cases where Fentanyl was mixed with cocaine and heroin. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50 to 100 times as potent as morphine. Due to its rapid rate of absorption into the human body, reports indicate that as little as the amount equivalent to the size of a few grains of table salt can be deadly.

The Grand Rapids Police Department wants anyone who has a drug problem to know that there is help available. They suggest that anyone seeking help reach out to Rehab International or the Grand Rapids Red Project.
