Forbes recently published its list of the richest American celebrities in 2016, and three names from hip-hop made the cut. First, Puff Daddy grabbed the No. 6 spot, being worth $750 million, Dr. Dre is at No. 8 with $710 million and Jay Z is at No. 11, being worth $610 million as of this year.

Reportedly, much of Dre's earnings come from the sales of his Beats headphones, and Hov continues to make a killing with his streaming service Tidal, his company Roc Nation and his musical catalog. Diddy, meanwhile, rakes in the dough from his Ciroc vodka brand, plus from his cable channel Revolt and his other ventures.

Other names on the top 20 list include Madonna, who's worth $560 million, falling one place behind Jay Z at the No. 12 spot.

Plus, Bruce Springsteen was listed at No. 14, being worth $460 million, and Jerry Seinfeld came in at No. 10 with $670 to his name. In addition to that, Michael Jordan was placed in the No. 4 spot at $1.2 billion, and Oprah, Steven Speilberg and filmmaker George Lucas rounded off the top three.
