Jay Z is arguably one of the biggest names in rap, and with that kind of platform, he tries to be careful about who and what he speaks out on. While attending the 2017 Sundance Film Festival for his film on the story of Kalief Browder, the Brooklyn veteran decided to answer some questions from the press. This, alone, was a pretty big deal, as Hov rarely gives interviews these days to any outlet.

The legendary MC was discussing the impact that the late Browder's story had on him and why he wanted to cover the story of the innocent teen's stint in solitary confinement, leading him to commit suicide after his release. The reporter he was speaking to then took the opportunity to ask Hov about his thoughts on new President Donald Trump, to which Jay refused to give any answer, cutting the interview short. Harvey Weinstein, who collaborated with Jay on the film, stood next to the rapper, and reminded the press that he was only there to promote the film and nothing more.

Since the footage surfaced, fans and viewers have given mixed emotions on Jay's refusal to speak on Trump. Some thought that he was doing the right thing by not giving the leader any attention, while others were left disappointed that Hov didn't take advantage of speaking out against what's going on. Watch Jay reject a Trump question above, and let us know your thoughts on the matter.
