Jhené Aiko is on the comeback trail. The R&B singer is prepping to finally release her sophomore solo effort, tentatively called TRIP 17.

In an interview with Playboy’s 2017 Music Issue, the Los Angeles native says the album will take people on an emotional journey.

"It's inspired by every type of trip you could imagine: mental, physical, even psychedelic,” she explains. “I'm at a point where I put it all in the music. It's a puzzle I want people to put together."

TRIP 17 will be the follow-up to her 2014 debut album, Souled Out. In 2016, she teamed up with her now-boyfriend, Big Sean, for their sensuous and futuristic project, TWENTY88. Since then Jhené has dropped numerous singles, including "While We're Young," "Maniac" and a collaborative tune with 6LACK called "First F---.”

During her three-year hiatus, the 29-year-old singer has remain relatively private and stayed away from the spotlight. That's was on purpose, Jhené reveals.

"I'm a bit of an escape artist," she explains. "I like to take myself out of my element and create. I went to Hawaii by myself and hiked. When you connect with nature, you connect with yourself."

There's no word on when Jhené will drop TRIP 17.
