Jidenna has been releasing some noteworthy singles from his upcoming project, The Chief. Last week, he delivered the trap music-inspired single, “The Let Out” (featuring Quavo) and now he returns with the doo-hop ballad, “Bambi.”

The doo-wop-sounding song is about love lost as Jidenna is jilted at the altar as his true love gets married to someone else.

"I got the wedding invitation Bambi / I'm happy that he wants to make a family / But I cannot promise I won't run up in the church / There screaming your name Bambi / No one can take you from me Bambi," he sings.

He then adds on the chorus, "Bambi, Bambi / My dear, my dear, my dear / My dear I want you here / Don't get too near for there's lions beware."

"Bambi" follows a slew of great singles from Jidenna including the dancehall track “Little Bit More” and the anthemic “Chief Don’t Run." Jidenna’s new album, The Chief, will arrive in stores on Feb. 17. You can preorder it now on iTunes.
