Judging by the reactions, Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 4 show was either a hit or a huge mess. Some people complained about the length of the show and others were not enthused by the overall collection. But overall, the biggest criticisms was over the way the models were treated on the runway.

As we previously reported, models were stumbling on the runway because of poorly-designed stilettos and a few women reportedly fainted in the blistering 85-degree weather with no assistance from West’s camp.

New York magazine editor Stella Bugbee, who attended the event, blasted West for what she believed was models being tortured on the runway. “For 15 minutes or so we watched as one by one the street-cast models kneeled in what looked like exhaustion,” she writes. “Part of the plan, I thought. Another model wilted. More models sat down.”

West sort of responded to the backlash on his Twitter account in a series of tweets. Although he didn't directly talk about the mishaps, he did convey what his creative vision was for the show.

"It's our life's mission to create the most transformative experiences," he wrote. "Each and every one's time, insight and feelings are invaluable to us. We want to make people feel great. Thank you for embarking on this creative journey."

As for the shoes breaking while models were walking on the runway, a rep for Yeezy vows that the heels won't break when they hit the marketplace. Meanwhile, a rep for Adidas said that none of the faulty boots at the show are part of their collection.

UPDATE: Kanye West further addressed the criticism of his Yeezy Season 4 fashion show at Harper’s Bazaar annual Icons party on Friday (Sept. 9).

“At the beginning of this performance I tried my best to not drop. No I tried to listen to all the reports and s--- and I tried my best to stop trying," he told the crowd. "But I just couldn’t it do it, I couldn’t stop. No matter what they write, I just couldn’t stop. I appreciate ya’ll going on this journey for me. I appreciate all the years that ya’ll put up with me learning in front of you. And listen[ing] to the music at the same time."
