Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Let Go of Longtime Bodyguard Pascal Duvier After Paris Robbery
Kanye isn't taking anymore chances when it comes to his family. Entertainment Tonight reports that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have let go of their bodyguard Pascal Duvier following last month's robbery in Paris. The 43-year-old bodyguard had been with Kanye since 2012 and started guarding Kim as well in 2013. Sources tell ET that the couple "relieved Pascal Duvier of his duties for the family" as a part of reevaluating their security.
"Pascal, along with a couple other security members of their team, were recently let go by Kim and Kanye," said one source. "It's a pretty tough situation overall and they love Pascal, but they couldn't take any more chances."
It was exactly one month ago that Kim was robbed at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. Though she wasn't physically harmed, the reality TV star was tied up and locked in the bathroom during the ordeal. The gunmen got away with $4.5 million as well as a box containing up to $6.7 million worth of jewelry. Duvier was not with Kim during the time of the robbery but rather at a Paris club protecting Kim's sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.
The same night Kim was robbed, Kanye was thousands of miles away performing at the first ever Meadows Festival in Queens, N.Y. Yeezy was in the middle of his headlining set when he got the news that his wife was in trouble and immediately rushed offstage, saying he had a "family emergency." As police looked into the crime, Kanye rescheduled Pablo tour dates to spend more time at Kim's side while Kim cut herself off from all social media. Kanye has since resumed his Pablo tour and the famous family has noticeably beefed up security around them.
