Kanye West did not attend the 59th Annual Grammy Awards this past weekend, but the rapper and his improving health were topics of discussion when PopSugar spoke to producer Malik Yusef on the red carpet. Yusef said he paid Kanye a visit recently and the two spoke at length about his recovery.

"Went to his house. I was gonna go back last week but we couldn’t get together he had some other stuff he had to do," Yusef said. "But I went to his house, sat down with him for six, seven hours just walking though his health and recovery. His memory’s coming back, which is super good. Just healing. Spending time with his family. Saint is getting big and he’s walking and playing with toys. That invigorates him." Yusef as well said that Kanye is not working on anything at the moment.

Yusef was up for three awards Sunday night (Feb. 12) for his contributions to Beyonce's Lemonade and Kanye's The Life of Pablo.

West was hospitalized in November for reported exhaustion, his every move since analyzed closely. There is some chatter regarding projects like Cruel Winter and Turbo Grafx 16, albums West announced last year but have yet to materialize, though as Yusef tells it, both are on the back burner as he sets his sights on a full recovery. In a Reddit AMA last week, CyHi The Prynce said that Cruel Winter was in fact still on that way, though time will tell what involvement Kanye retains.
