When Nicki Minaj nearly lost it upon meeting Lauryn Hill at the Tidal X charity concert on Saturday, it's pretty understandable considering the singer's classic catalog.

Whether it's her work with The Fugees or her solo stuff, L-Boogz has always successfully pushed the envelope, while provoking thought and releasing some of the most beautiful music ever. Hopefully, she'll get back to rhyming once again, though.

Anyway, while performing at the Jay Z and Beyoncé-ran event, Ms. Hill introduced a new version of her song "I Find It Hard To Say (Rebel)," which is now called "Rebel/I Find It Hard To Say," and she also dropped it online.

"Old tune, new version, same context," she tweeted right after. "Even more relevant now. Sick and tired of being sick and tired."

The New Jersey native first introduced the cut on her Unplugged 2.0 album, released in 2002, in light of Amadou Diallo, a 23-year-old man from Guinea, who was killed by New York City Police officers in 1999.

Reportedly, the officers fired 41 shots at Diallo, 19 of which struck him and he didn't have a weapon on him, just a wallet.

"I've written it about the whole Amadou Diallo situation," said Hill in 2002 at the taping of her Unplugged episode. "It was such a hot time in the city at that point, I was afraid that if I put the record out, people would misunderstand what I mean by 'Rebel,' and they just take to the streets."

You can listen to the updated version of the tune here, on Tidal.
