A young Pentwater man unfortunately didn't make it to his 21st birthday after being struck by 3 different vehicles the day before his birthday.

According to WZZM, a 20-year-old man died on Saturday after being hit by 3 vehicles on U.S. 10 east of Brye Road.

The man, Jordan James, attempted to cross U.S. 10 after 7 p.m. and a Ford F-150 hit him just as he had crossed the westbound and center turn lane. The truck was heading east when it struck James.

When James was hit by the first truck, he landed in the outside lane and was hit again by another pick-up truck, then a car struck him right after.

Sunday, November 4, James would have turned 21.

None of the drivers tested positive for alcohol or drugs. The person who was behind the wheel of the Ford F-150 was a 45-year-old Scottville man, the other pick-up driver was a 46-year-old man from Jackson, and the driver of the car was a 25-year-old woman from Scottville.

A witness to the accident told police that when James was crossing the street he was on his cell phone and was holding it to his right ear and that was the same direction the other vehicles that hit him were coming from.
