During a visit to San Francisco radio station Q102.1, Jodeci's Mr. Dalvin confirmed that a Jodeci biopic is indeed on the way to VH1.

Rumors about the possibility of a Jodeci biopic began circulating last summer, just as news of New Edition's BET special was reaching a fever pitch. Of course, The New Edition biopic was a ratings smash, setting records for the network. Deadline reported that parts one and three of the miniseries were the network’s highest-rated and most-watched telecasts in five years, since 2012’s Season 5 premiere of The Game.

There's little doubt that a Jodeci miniseries would have similar success, particularly when you consider all of the drama that the group had during their ascent in the business. Drama aside, Jodeci (K-Ci, Jo Jo, Mr. Dalvin and Devante Swing) had hits, setting a new standard for R&B groups with hits like "Forever My Lady," "Cry for You" and "Feenin'."

Mr. Dalvin said that production is set to start on the biopic next month.

“That’s in the works already,” Mr. Dalvin said. “They started the process last September — we just finished the script and we’re going into production next month, so we’re looking at an end of the year release.”

On his Instagram, Mr. Dalvin also said that they're about to begin casting soon, and said he'd be sharing more details about the casting call for the film. Take a look at Dalvin's post above.
