Nas' next album is coming this summer, and that comes straight from the legend's mouth.

In a recent New York Times article, the reporter asked Nas whether he was done with his next LP. Nas' last album was Life is Good in 2012.

"Two weeks," he said. "I always say I'm two weeks away from finishing ... We coming this summer, baby. It's going to be a hot summer."

Nas also explained how he approaches his art these days.

"It's like Frank Sinatra," said Nas about how he picks the topics to write about. "I listen to him because he speaks to me. Frank's thing is just speak about life and it resonates with everyone. When I'm in here, I'm conscious of that."

Meanwhile, the "One Love" rapper will be playing a good number of shows in the coming months, as he's co-headlining a North American tour with Lauryn Hill and performing at Atlanta's A3C Festival.

Hopefully, by then he'll be performing some new songs from the new album or at least a first single. Either way, regardless of when Nas' next project drops, it'll more than likely be worth the wait.
