On Friday night (Nov. 18). the cast of Hamilton used their curtain call to urge Vice President-elect Mike Pence to consider the needs of all Americans in he and President-elect Donald Trump's new administration. Pence has been criticized for having views that many believe to be homophobic, and a few members of the Hamilton cast belong to the LGBTQ community.

Pence had arrived to the Richard Rodgers Theater to enjoy the critically acclaimed production, but was met with boos upon its conclusion. More than a few people have criticized the Hamilton cast and audience's treatment of Pence, but hip-hop legend Questlove isn't one of them. On Saturday (Nov. 19), the multi-talented entertainer used his Instagram account to offer his support. You can see Questlove's post for yourself up top.

For his post, Questlove uploaded a meme comparing NWA to the cast of Hamilton, captioning "So proud to be a part of #TheNewThreat @hamiltonmusical #NoApology." Of course, the cast's move must have hit particularly close to home. He did, afterall, produce the play's Grammy-winning cast album and a mixtape based on the production.

It's good to know Questlove has their back, because the soon-to-be most powerful man in the world definitely wasn't too happy. "Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen," Trump tweeted some time after the incident. "The Theater must always be a safe and special place," he continued in another tweet. "The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!"

The "lecture" that started this controversy took place just after the conclusion of the play. It was given by Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays the role of Aaron Burr in the play. "Vice president-elect, I see you walking out but I hope you will hear us," Dixon said as audience members boo'd.

"There's nothing to boo here, we're all sharing a story of love." "We welcome you, and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton: An American Musical — we really do," he continued. "We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values, and work on behalf of all of us."
