Rihanna returned as iconic horror victim Marion Crane (famously played by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock's original film) on Bates Motel Monday night (March 27), but was her fate the same as in the infamous bloody shower scene from 1960?

**Spoilers below**

After arriving at the creepy motel on a stormy night, suitcase full of cold hard cash in hand, Marion checked in with Norman (Freddie Highmore) and went to her room to rinse her sins away.

Unlike Hitchcock's film though, Rihanna's Marion—surprise!—walked away from her time bathing with nary a scratch, albeit an emotional one: After learning her lover, Sam Loomis (Austin Nichols), was actually a philandering husband using Marion as his sidepiece, the victim-turned-hero let out not a blood-curdling shriek but an adamant "F--- this s---" and drove away into the night with her cash. (B---h better have her money, after all.)

But worry not, Psycho purists—while history was indeed rewritten on last night's episode, bloody homage was paid to the most iconic moment in horror cinema, with Norman instead attacking and killing Sam in the shower (who entered Marion's room after she left) with a near shot-by-shot scene recreation.

"Oh, Mother," a blood-spattered Norman murmurs as he takes in his handiwork after his rage-fueled killing spree is over. "What have I done?"

So, will Rihanna return to Bates Motel again? Or has her time in White Pine Bay come to a sure and certain close? Bates Motel airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on A&E—so find out then!
