A robbery suspect was arrested when found walking on US-131 early Friday morning. The suspect was wanted for a bank robbery in Plainwell.

According to WOOD TV, the 51-year-old robbery suspect was located by the Michigan State Police just south of M-222 walking down US-131 at 1 a.m. near Martin.

The suspect has federal charges against him and is now in custody at the Allegan County Jail.

A local PNC Bank was robbed around 11 a.m. on Thursday when a teller was handed a note that read, "I have a bomb in the bag. Put all non-marked money in a bag."

The suspect left the building after receiving a bag full of money in a backpack that was later found.

Police evacuated downtown Plainwell while trying to locate the suspect Thursday. Michigan State Police brought in the bomb squad and used a robot to find out the backpack was just filled with old clothes and the cash was gone.

Downtown Plainwell was evacuated for most of Thursday morning as authorities searched for the suspect. Police had people leave nearby buildings and closed off streets for several blocks. The MSP Bomb Squad used a robot to determine the backpack was filled with nothing but old clothes.

Police are still investigation and are asking if you have any information to contact authorities at 269-685-9858.
