Last fall, Lil Wayne made some controversial remarks about the Black Lives Matter movement, and simply put, his boy T.I. wasn't having it. Tip quickly let Weezy know what the deal was with a scathing Instagram post a bit later, and apparently, the two haven't spoken since. T.I. said as much during a Q&A session at SXSW.

"I ain't spoke to lil' bro. I mean, that was probably one of the most difficult responses and one of the most difficult tasks I've been faced with," Tip revealed after he was asked if he'd talked to Weezy since his BLM comments.

He continued by saying he felt he had to make a public statement about Weezy rather than a private one. "This ain't cool, this ain't how we rocking. And I don't think that could've been done in private. That was something that had to be done publicly," the soon-to-be ex-reality TV star said at SXSW.

In a second question, an editor from Baller Alert asked the Grand Hustle boss if he felt it was important for celebrities to get involved with the issues like he did. As he's prone to do, Tip offered up a pretty nuanced response.

"I think it's important for them to do what they passionate about. Like if they have a true passion and they really sincerely care enough, then I think they should speak out on it," Tip explained. "I don't think they should keep themselves from speaking out on it just for, you know, their corporate sponsor's comfort zones. You know what I'm saying? But at the same time, I don't think they should force themselves if they don't have an opinion."
