Tee Grizzley is showing and proving that he deserves a slot in the conversation regarding lyrical rappers, and he only upgraded that narrative with his latest freestyle. The "First Day Out" MC stopped by Funkmaster Flex's show on Hot 97, where he spit some mean bars for the radio DJ's freestyle series.

While repping hard for his hometown city of Detroit, Grizzley covers a slew of topics throughout the freestyle over a mellow instrumental of strings, with the most common theme generating around his past struggles that have led to his major come up.

"Got some money, but that poverty still fuck with my spirit/Couple niggas was slipping/We could've killed 'em/Let 'em live bro, it's gonna kill them to see us winning," he rymes.

While sitting next to Flex in the studio, the Midwest rapper brought out a stack of around $25,000 in bills to put on the table, which we can only imagine inspire him to spit his heavy bars.

2017 is shaping up to be an important year for Grizzley, as he has already pitched himself to become a 2017 XXL Freshman—the annual magazine cover is set to debut this summer. The rapper most recently dropped the visuals to his song "Real Niggas," which comes straight off of his newly-released My Moment mixtape. The project is currently available for streaming on Apple Music.
