The NFL Playoffs are underway, and the Detroit Lions are not in them (again). But it does make me nostalgic for the last time the Lions won a playoff game. It was 27 years ago this week.

The Lions had won the old NFC Central Division with a 12-4 record, and earned a bye in the playoffs as the number two seed. They took on the Dallas Cowboys at the Pontiac Silverdome, and waltzed to a 38-6 win. The joy was short lived as the Lions were destroyed a week later, 41-10 in Washington to the eventual champions, the Redskins.
