Tory Lanez is starting off 2017 with a bang, recently announcing he will be dropping two new projects on New Year's Day, Chixtape 4 and The New Toronto 2.

Lanez revealed the good news to fans via Twitter, posting, "I Have now completed both the #Chixtape4 and #TheNewToronto2 ... I'm putting them out New Years Day .. 2017 belongs to the Umbrella."

One person who seemed ecstatic about the projects was collaborator Joe Budden who responded, "New Years Day ?!?!?? Foh!!!!!!"

Tory has his reasons for picking the date. "I was going to release on Christmas but I figured this was the smarter move for various reasons," Lanez responded to Joe. "Don't worry it's worth the wait."

No more details were given on the forthcoming releases.

The Canadian artist is following a similar formula that he used before. Chixtape 3 and The New Toronto both came out on Christmas Day, last year.

The new tapes will be Lanez's first releases since he dropped his debut album I Told You in August via Mad Love Records and Interscope Records. The album was spearheaded by the singles "Say It" and "Luv," and featured production from Lanez, Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat, Two Inch Punch and Noah Breakfast and others.

The project debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 after moving 53,000 units in its first week out.

Tory has stayed busy post album release, catching guest spots on Meek Mill's "Litty" off DC4, Joe Budden's "Flex" alongside Fabolous and DJ Drama's "Wishing (Remix)."
