A 46-year-old Mason County woman has been arrested after allowing an unlicensed driver to operate her vehicle while she allegedly consumed alcohol in the back seat.

MLive reports that a 14-year-old was driving the vehicle when it rolled on an ice-covered road east of Ludington Saturday night.

Reportedly the teen, along with others under 16 had been at the woman's house. The teens needed a ride home, but it appeared the woman was too intoxicated to drive them.

She road along, allegedly drinking in the back seat, while the boy took the other children home.

It was when they were returning to the woman's house near Walhalla in Branch township that the vehicle rolled. Neither the woman or the teen were injured.

The woman was taken to Mason County Jail and has since been released on bond. She's expected to be arraigned later this week.

Her blood alcohol level was .16 at the time of the accident. The 14-year-old had no alcohol in his system. He was not cited.

Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole says he would not be surprised if the woman was also charged with child endangerment.
