Bronx residents are pushing for Big Pun to get his own street in the Bronx.

Fans have created a petition for the late rapper to be honored with a street on East 163rd Street and Rogers Place. AllHipHop reports the decision could finally go before city representatives, and city councilman, Rafael Salamanca, told a local news station that if residents support the proposal, he'll bring the idea to a vote.

Big Pun's son, Chris Rivers, said the move to name a street after his father would be significant.

“I think for the people of the Bronx that that grew up listening to him, that was inspired by his words and the millions of people that heard his music!and it changed their lives, I think it would be amazing to see something more concrete,” he said.

Back in 2014, an unofficial street sign was put up by a fan, Shane Rossi, however, it was taken down by city officials. Recently, A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg had a street named after him in Queens, so there's hope that this latest petition will get some traction.

Big Pun died in 2000 of a heart attack.
