Thousands of people in West Michigan are without power Wednesday afternoon due to high wind gusts blowing through the area.

Consumers Energy reports that over 125,000 homes are without power this afternoon. If you're wondering if power is out in your area, you can check Consumer's Power Outage Map (though, as of the writing of this, the site seems to be overloaded and not working.) According to a recorded message from Consumer's when you call them, there is no estimated restoration time at this time.

WOOD-TV8 reports that over 25,000 of those without power are in Kent County, and just over 2,700 are without power in Ottawa County.

Wind gusts in several areas of West Michigan have reached over 50 mph, and WZZM-13 reports that wind gusts of 64 mph have been reported at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

Consumers Energy reminds folks to stay away from downed power lines if you see them, and call 911.

A high wind warning is in effect for most of West Michigan until 7 p.m.
