Starting in October, you might be one of 2 million Michigan drivers who will have pay $40 more per vehicle for your insurance! Michigan removed an $80 million tax credit from the budget for the next fiscal year, which is what insurers say is causing the increased rates. State legislators claim the tax credit wasn't ever supposed to be in place, it was unintentional.

If you have a Michigan-based insurer, like such as Auto-Owners, AAA or Frankenmuth Insurance, then the increase will affect you, according to WZZM.
