23 People Arrested in East Lansing after MSU Loss
Honestly, I'm a little surprised that number isn't higher...
We all felt the pain when Michigan State lost (61-51) on Saturday night against Texas Tech in the Final Four but fans in East Lansing showed their frustration in the streets around campus. And in true fashion, couches were burned. Here's an example of just one of the incidents.
In a news release from East Lansing P.D. (via Lansing State Journal) the crowd reached about 1,500 people; and out of those, 23 people were arrested. Most of the arrests were due to open intoxication or disorderly conduct. Nine were MSU students. Police responded to 10 small furniture fires, three property damages including destruction of signs and a police car.
Things were even worse in Lubbock, Texas where they celebrated a little too hardcore forcing officers to use tear gas, reports ESPN.
