1. Sunshine Improves Mood
There is one variable from all types of weather that truly has a noticeable difference in your mood and that is sunshine. There have been several studies done on sunshine and mental health and hands down sunshine have the best effect on your mood. More so than rainy weather, temperature changes, or any other environmental factors.
Sunshine increases your serotonin and helps regulate attention, behavior, and body temperature. Serotonin helps blood flow, and breathing and can fight off anxiety and depression.
2. Sunshine Improves Your Sleep
How many times have you been laying on the beach and then fallen asleep? Is that serotonin you are soaking up from the sun that helps you sleep and this carries into the night. Serotonin works with melatonin which is that chemical in your brain that brings you to sleep. So getting lots of sun during the day equals a great night's sleep.

Want to lower that blood pressure? Get out in the sun and let it hit your skin. This causes your body to release nitric oxide in your blood and this will bring your blood pressure down and takes better care of your heart. Sunshine can help reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. That relaxing feeling you get is actually your blood pressure being lowered and this also contributes to your happiness.

Vitamin D is one of the most important functions that occur in our bodies. Vitamin D helps the body grow and food is not the only source, yes it is sunshine that can help and it doesn't take much. 5 to 15 minutes a few times a week can make a noticeable difference. So get out and enjoy the sunshine with friends and family a soak up that Vitamin D. If you are going to be out longer than 15 minutes you may want to slap on some sunscreen.

As mentioned above, Vitamin D is very important and the lack thereof can lead to osteoporosis. So getting sunshine that boosts your Vitamin D helps make your bones stronger and teeth. Calcium is important in bone health and getting that Vitamin D from the sun aids your body in absorbing the calcium.
