Where To Get Your ‘Child Sized’ Covid Vaccine For Your Kids In West Michigan
On Tuesday the CDC issued a recommendation to vaccinate children 5-11 years old with the Pediatric Covid-19 Vaccine.
For many West Michigan families, this is great news as school outbreaks have become a normal part of the school year and the only effective mitigation technique for younger students was universal masking, which many parents have pushed back on.
Now those younger students can get the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. Those looking to get their kids scheduled in West Michigan have many options as healthcare providers and pharmacies are expected to begin these vaccinations within the next few days.
The Kent County Health Department has extended clinic hours at all locations to help in the vaccination process. Here's the info from KCHD:
The Kent County Health Department is currently taking appointments for the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for this age group. In addition, extended clinic hours at all locations will be held on:
-Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 8am to 11:45am and 12:45pm to 6:45pm
-Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 8am to 11:45am and 12:45pm to 6:45pm
Appointments can be made for all three KCHD clinic locations during regular business hours by calling (616) 632-7200. Residents can also reach out to their primary care physician and local pharmacies for availability.
