What will the Winter Weather be like in Grand Rapids for 2022-2023?

In what is not a huge surprise for anyone who's lived in West Michigan, it looks like the cold and snow are on the way once again.

According to the almanac's 'Tale of Two Winters' forecast, it looks like West Michigan will face a cold and snowy winter.

The almanac calls for half of the country to feel winter's wrath:

To us, this season's puzzle tells A TALE OF TWO WINTERS! Half of the country will deal with bone-chilling cold & loads of snow, while the other half may feel like winter never arrives.

Will Grand Rapids have a cold winter in 2022-2023?

Grand Rapids and West Michigan are in the almanac's 'Lower Lakes' region. This winter, the region is predicted to have colder temperatures starting earlier in the winter and more snow than usual.

Winter will be colder than normal, with the coldest temperatures in early December and late January to mid-February. Both precipitation and snowfall will be above normal. The snowiest periods will be in late November to early December and early to mid-January.
