Alpena Waitress Is A Beneficiary Of The 2020 Challenge
Have you heard about the 2020 tip challenge? It's a bit over my head, but maybe one of you can do it.
The 2020 challenge on the internet is to tip a waiter or waitress $2020. Yup, that's right: two thousand and twenty dollars!
I'm pretty sure I don't have that kind of money in my checking account right now, so I'm out, but an Alpena waitress is in, thanks to the kindness of someone she waited on.
31-year old Danielle Franzoni is $2020 richer today thanks to a restaurant patron who participated in the tip challenge, and it couldn't have come at a better time for Franzoni, who is a single mother.
Danielle, who was living in a homeless shelter a year ago, says she will use the extra funds to open a savings account and reinstate her driver's license. She received the tip while working her regular shift at the Thunder Bay River Restaurant in Alpena on Sunday, December 29.
“They don’t know nothing about my story. They don’t know where I’ve come from. They don’t know how hard it’s been,” Franzoni told the Associated Press about the couple who left the tip. “They’re really just doing this out of the kindness of their heart.”
In their honor, Franzoni left a $20.20 tip on her meal later than night.
Now THAT I can afford!
