Starting out as a weatherman/TV-Radio host for TV8 in the 70's, I also played "Captain Woody" on the TV8 afternoon kids show, might be the most recognized personality in the West Michigan area having been on radio and TV for the better part of three decades. I'm originally a "Hoosier" from Muncie, Indiana and always wanted to be in “show biz”. After graduating from Ball State University, I stayed in Indiana, working in radio and TV in Richmond, Muncie and Indianapolis. I moved to Grand Rapids to work at WOOD-TV. I'm deeply involved in the Grand Rapids and West Michigan community. I've served on the board of directors of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), the Metropolitan YMCA, and Easter Seals-Michigan. I also assist the Salvation Army, DeGage Ministries, JDRF, Disability Advocates, Hope Network, and various other non-profit organizations. Interests: I love golf, travel, reading, dining out, theater and movies. And, of course my children and grandchildren. I have seven children and thirteen grandchildren. We have a busy life. Music: I love all kinds - especially jazz, blues, and classical, rock and pop hits. The best part about my job: The ability to make a difference in the community.
