Barack Obama Names Songs From Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and More as Favorites of 2017
It's no secret that former president, Barack Obama is a hip-hop fan. Barry O recently released the annual year-end list of his favorite books and songs. Some of the names on his list for 2017 include JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott.
Obama is digging Hov's "Family Feud" record off 4:44. Hov dropped his "Family Feud" video on Friday (Dec. 29). The latest clip, which has award-winning director Ava DuVernay at the helm, features appearances from Beyoncé, Michael B. Jordan, Constance Wu, Rashida Jones, Jessica Chastain, Rosario Dawson and more, and appears to take place in the fictional future of 2444 and 2050. Parts of the video are set in a church, featuring a shot of Jay walking down an aisle with a Blue Ivy in tow. The rapper also makes his way to a confession booth where Beyoncé is sitting on the other side.
A couple of days ago, DuVernay shared some behind-the-scenes footage and insights from the video on Twitter. "The first scene focuses on errors," she wrote, sharing photos from the video's introduction. "All families hurt each other. Mistakes are made. Expectations unmet. Jealousies fester. Dramatizing that energy are @michaelb4jordan, @thandienewton + @_Trevante_. Some behind the scenes snaps of their gorgeousness."
K. Dot's "Humble" and La Flame's Goosebumps" also made the list. They weren't the only ones. Chance The Rapper, DJ Khaled and French Montana also show up.
Good choices, Barry. Good choices.
