Bissell Expanding in Walker, Adding 100 Jobs

Vacuum Manufacturer, Bissell, in Walker is expanding.

Wood TV 8 reports that Bissell is planning a $10 million expansion that will create 100 new jobs.

The company is getting a $500,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The city of Walker is also considering giving Bissell tax incentives for the project.

Bissell plans to add 25,000-square-feet of office space to its corporate headquarters on Walker Ave. NW.

Currently Bissell employs 490 people.

According to MLive, the new jobs at Bissell have a weighted average salary of $75,000.
