Breaking News: John Singleton has passed

At the age of 51, movie director, producer and philanthropist John Singleton has passed away today after complications from a stroke.

A Singleton family rep says he passed "peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends." More than more a week ago, Singleton suffered a massive stroke after he had checked himself into the hospital with a problem concerning his legs. He had been in a coma in ICU at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.
