The Kent County Sheriff's Department has released surveillance video of a bicyclist getting hit by a car, who then drove off. The incident occurred on Division Street on November 17.

CAUTION: It is disturbing to watch.

As someone who rides his bicycle quite a bit around Grand Rapids, it's very difficult to watch this video, but it reminds me of why I take the time to put on a helmet and light myself up like a Christmas tree before I head out. This driver never slowed down before hitting the cyclist, and then drove off.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office say they  are looking for a 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am, possibly dark in color.
