If you watched Chance the Rapper’s interview with Katie Couric, then you know that he’s trying to save Chicago’s public school system, which currently there’s a $215 million hole in the school’s budget. Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner vetoed a bill that would have relieve some of that burden because it didn’t contain pension reforms that he demanded be included in the bill.

Chano was given a private 40-minute meeting with Gov. Rauner to figure out another plan to help the CPS. But it appears that their meeting came to a stalemate. The Grammy-winning rhymer left the meeting “a bit flustered” and “frustrated.”

“I’m here ’cause I just want people to do their jobs,” Chance told reporters after the meeting (quotes via Rap-Up). “I did speak with the governor. I asked him about funding CPS with that $215 million that was discussed in May of last year and was vetoed in December over, you know, political arguments and s---."

"The kids are on the table right now,” he continued. “We spoke for a second. It sounded like we were going somewhere, but it’s hinged on passing other bills. I’m not a politician.” He also reportedly told the governor: “Take our kids off the table.”

Chance also challenged the media to do their jobs in reporting about this issue and some of the problems the city is facing.

However, the "All We Got" rapper is not giving up. He went on to Twitter to tell his followers that he's coming up with a plan to save CPS and it looks like he's mobilizing a strong team.

Salute to Chance the Rapper for his painstaking endeavor in making sure Chicago kids get the proper education they deserve.
