Childish Gambino delivers an epic performance. On Sunday night (Jan. 28), the multifaceted rapper showcased his vocals as he performed his Awaken, My Love! track, "Terrified," in front of a packed crowd at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Singer JD McCrary, who's set to play the role of young Simba in the Gambino-starring live action adaptation of Disney's The Lion King next year, joined him onstage.

Standing under the glow of a bluish light spotlight, Gambino showcased the smooth falsetto that permeated his Funkadelic-inspired album. McCrary left his mark, too, showing the precocious talent that helped him land on the Gambino track in the first place. It was a dope moment, to be sure.

What was equally dope was Gambino, who this past summer hinted at a retirement from the music world, was the Georgia-bred artist winning his first-ever Grammy Award. Earlier in the night, his hit single "Redbone" took home the trophy for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Salute to him.
