NBA superstar LeBron James is reportedly planning to remake the 1990s flick House Party for New Line. The classic teen movie launched the careers of Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin. Kid from Kid ‘N Play is supportive of the reboot.

While chatting with TMZ Sports, Kid voiced his support for James’ House Party reboot. "LeBron and his people are in control, so I trust them," he said. "They are going to do a great job."

When asked if he will appear in the remake, Kid said, "We'll see."

According to Variety, Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori, writers on the FX dramedy Atlanta will write the screenplay. No director has been attached to the project as of yet.

The original House Party was directed by filmmaker Reginald Hudlin and starred Kid ‘n Play, Tisha Campbell, A.J. Johnson, Martin Lawrence and Full Force with a cameo by George Clinton. The movie centers on Kid who sneaks out of his home to attend a house party held by his friend Play. Through the course of the night, Kid faces several misadventures as he tries to makes his way to the biggest party of the school year.

House Party cost to $2.5 million to make and grossed over $26 million at the box office. The studio then released House Party 2 in 1991 and House Party 3 in 1994. There was also a House Party: Tonight's the Night direct-to-video flick in 2013.

There's no word on when LeBron James' House Party reboot will arrive in theaters.
