Contagious Measles Patient May Have Infected Some At DTW & Ann Arbor
Heads up if you’ve flown in or out of DTW recently, health officials tell ClickOnDetroit that someone with a contagious case of the measles landed at the Detroit Airport and then traveled to Ann Arbor.
According to ClickOnDetroit, the passenger landed June 12th around 3:45 pm in the International Arrival area of McNamara Terminal and was considered contagious when they landed.
ClickOnDetroit reports that “patient zero” made a few other public stops before finally going to the Concentra Urgent Care in Ann Arbor on June 14th.

The person also used the Hertz car rental airport shuttle bus between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. He or she stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Ann Arbor from 5:30 p.m. June 12 through 5 p.m. June 16.
Officials said the person visited the Jimmy John's restaurant at 3945 South State Street in Ann Arbor between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. June 12.
Health officials are trying to contact any airline passengers that may have come in contact with the patient. They also say that if anyone had contact with this person at any of the locations, they should be aware and watch for symptoms up to 21 days after having contact with the person.

Health officials said measles is a respiratory infection that can be prevented by vaccination. It can result in pneumonia, encephalitis and death. It begins with a high fever, red eyes, cough, runny nose and rashes.
