Della Reese, Michigan-Born Singer and Actress, Dies at Age 86
Della Reese, Michigan-born music legend and actress well-known for her role in the show Touched by an Angel has died at the age of 86.
She is survived by her children Deloreese, James, Franklin, and Dominique, and her husband Franklin Lett.
Reese was born in Detroit's Black Bottom neighborhood on July 6, 1931.
She began her music career at the age of 13 as part of a gospel group, but came to fame as a jazz singer.
