Delta Variant Seeing A Surge In Michigan

COVID-19 Delta variant cases are on the rise around the country but increasing in number here in Michigan.

After being at a concert over the weekend with around 15,000 per day, even though I am vaccinated, I am still concerned if there will be any aftermath, especially after hearing about the rising cases of the Delta variant in Michigan.

According to FOX 17, the Delta variant makes up 85% of the country's new coronavirus infections as many people have yet to be vaccinated. There are 71 cases of the Delta variant in Michigan as of this week.

71 cases may not seem like a lot but the variant just got here and in one day, it grew to 13 more cases.

I know no one wants to hear this, but if you are going to get into a large crowd at all, even if you are vaccinated it may help to wear a mask again. I just broke mine back out for shopping again and moving forward at concerts.

Detroit, Livingston County, Macomb County and Oakland County all of cases of the Delta Variant. Seeing how rapidly it is growing in states like Missouri, Arkansas, Nevada, Colorado and Utah are being the hardest hit. These are also low vaccinated states.

Michigan is 60% vaccinated and this should minimize infections but the 5 counties listed above are 50% or less and that is what puts everyone in danger all over again.

We are just getting back to a return to normal but if this variant keeps spreading like it has in other states, we may lose some of the privilege's we just got back and have to start wearing masks all the time again.

Getting vaccinated is the best way to go in fighting this new variant because there little to no fatalities for those vaccinated who catch the variant. When not vaccinated the new variants death is much greater than the original strain the hit America.

Doctors suggest everyone who is not vaccinated to get vaccinated and for everyone, vaccinated or not, to wear masks when in crowded areas.
