The Detroit Youth Choir came in second place during the finals of 'America's Got Talent', but that's not stopping awesome things from happening for them.

Friday we found out they'd be performing in Vegas for 4 nights with 'AGT' winner, Kodi Lee; now we find out they are also getting a million dollars, the amount of the award for winning the television competition.

WOOD TV reports that area businesses and foundations have come together to award the million dollars to the DYC.  They will use the money to create an endowment that will go towards youth programs including vocal training and life skills.

Wendy Lewis Jackson of the Kresge Foundation said in WOOD TV's story that they wanted to do this gift for the youth choir which ranges in age from 8 to 18 years old because of the youth choir's spot on the singing competition  "brought our entire region together to support Detroit’s kids.”
