Drake's chart-topping song "In My Feelings" brought us the #InMyFeelingsChallenge, but not everyone is down for the cause. In an interview with The Blast on Monday (July 23), a representative from the National Transportation Safety Board criticized the viral dance and warned fans that jumping out of moving vehicles is unsafe.

“Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in the U.S," Nicholas Worrell, chief of safety advocacy at the NTSB, said. "Hopping out of a moving vehicle or jumping into lanes of traffic to show your dance moves is foolish and dangerous — to you and those around you."

He continued, “There’s a time and place for everything, but our nation’s highways and roadways are no place for the #InMyFeelings challenge.”

The challenge, inspired by a dance video posted by Instagram comedian Shiggy, involves jumping out of the driver's seat of a car and pantomiming the song's romantic lyrics. Fans and celebrities alike have shared their own takes on the stunt, but some of these renditions have ended in disaster when dancers try to hop out of a moving vehicle, sometimes even in traffic.

Thankfully, we have government experts to explain why this is a bad idea. Meanwhile, authorities are clamping down more harshly on the craze in less dance-friendly countries. Police in Egypt and Spain have explicitly warned that jumping out of vehicles or disrupting traffic for the purpose of doing the Shiggy is a crime, and three people in Abu Dhabi were arrested this week for participating in the challenge.
